NEW DELHI: Tracking a weak global trend, gold prices fell by Rs 186 to Rs 31,516 per 10 grams in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in February fell by Rs 186, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 31,516 per 10 grams in business turnover of 18,951 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December lost Rs 144, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 31,118 per 10 grams in 129 lots.
Market analysts said speculators offloaded their positions in tandem with a weak global trend mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, gold dropped 0.6 per cent to USD 1,705.41 an ounce in London.
