MY:Rupee gains 0.2% against USD to Rs 54.43 in noon trade
Indian rupee gained against the greenback in noon trade on Thursday. Rupee was higher by 12 paise or 0.22% against US dollar to Rs 54.43 compared to previous close of 54.55 (12.51 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.37 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.14% to 79.88 after opening at 79.81 (02:10 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.14% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.41 down 0.07% (02:21 ET).
At 12.52 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 136.65 points or 0.70% at 19,255.21 with 25 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 39.25 points or 0.67% at 5,861.25 with 42 components falling.
