BS:Nickel declines on reduced demand

Nickel prices declined at the non- ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amid reduced demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper, brass and lead prices eased due to lower offtake from industrial users.

The Industrial metals were trading almost flat at LME as signs of a revival in China's economic growth and hopes of further easing by the US underpinned prices.
Nickel dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,100 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,105.
Copper cables scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting, brass utensils scrap and lead all inched down by a rupee per kg to Rs 492, Rs 520, Rs 465, Rs 323, and Rs 126 respectively.

However, zinc climbed by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 144 from Rs 142.
