LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Crude-oil prices extended gains on Wednesday, after delegates said the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries decided to maintain its oil production ceiling of 30 million barrels a day. It was unclear, however, whether the group would address current production levels, which are well above the target. Oil for January delivery CLF3 +0.75% was up 64 cents, or 0.8%, to $86.44 a barrel, after reaching an intra-day high of $86.55 a barrel after the announcement. Other energy futures were also on the rise, with gasoline for January delivery RBF3 +0.89% up 0.9% to $2.63 a gallon and heating oil for the same month HOF3 +0.78% up 0.8% at $2.95 a gallon.
