NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. XOM +0.10% rose 0.1% while Chevron Corp. CVX +0.26% moved up by 0.2% as energy stocks posted modest gains after Friday's U.S. December jobs report. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund XLE +0.63% , which includes energy stocks in the S&P 500 Index SPX +0.17% , rose 0.6%. Among the early gainers, oil service firm National Oilwell Varco NOV +1.79% rose 1.5% and Cameron International CAM +1.52% moved up by 1.6%. First Solar Inc. FSLR -2.53% dropped 2.8% after a big rise in the previous session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA +0.09% rose 14 points.
