MW: U.S. stock-index futures hold gains after claims

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures maintained a modest advance Thursday after the goverment reported applications for unemployment benefits last week rose by 4,000 to 371,000, a one-month high. Up 36 points ahead of the data, futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJH3 +0.23% were lately up 34 points at 13,359. Futures for the S&P 500 SPH3 +0.46% rose 5.9 points to 1,461.70. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 NDH3 +0.59% were ahead 16 points at 2,738.
