BLBG: U.K. Pound Strengthens 0.2% to 83.93 Pence Per Euro; Gilts Rise
The pound strengthened against the euro, appreciating 0.2 percent to 83.93 pence at 1:23 p.m. London time. It earlier weakened as much as 0.4 percent to 84.41 pence per euro. Sterling rose 0.2 percent to $1.5857.
U.K. government bonds rose, pushing the 10-year gilt yield two basis points lower, to 2.03 percent.
