Indian rupee slightly declined against the greenback in noon trade on Friday. Rupee was lower by 4 paise or 0.08% against US dollar to Rs 53.97 compared to previous close of 53.93 (12.07 p.m.). It opened at Rs 53.91 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.15 to 80.29 compared to previous close of 80.45 (22:52 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.33 up 0.16% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 92.65 down 0.25% (01:41 ET).
At 12.13 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 61.78 points or 0.32% at 19,435.40 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 26.10 points or 0.44% at 5,870.85 with 39 components falling.
