MW: Treasury yields extend losses after jobless claims

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Treasury yields extended losses Thursday as jobless claims rose to 362,000 in the week ended Feb. 16. Economists had expected claims to rise to 351,000, according to a survey by MarketWatch. Yields on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note 10_YEAR -1.04% fell 3 basis points to 1.98%. Yields move inversely to prices and one basis point is one one-hundredth of a percentage point.
