Indian rupee was higher against the greenback in noon trade on Monday. Rupee went up 6 paise or 0.11% against US dollar to Rs 54.35 compared to previous close of 54.41 (12.08 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.29 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index increased 0.18% to 82.72 compared to previous close of 82.57 (02:36 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.30 down 0.22% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 96.37 up 0.09% (02:45 ET).
At 12.14 p.m, the Sensex was trading down 100.55 points or 0.51% at 19,545.66 with 22 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 3.35 points or 0.06% at 5,945.70 with 13 components gaining.
