SG:China importers cut copper scrap orders on tighter customs checks
Reuters reported that China's importers of low grade copper scrap have cut orders by more than a fifth after customs authorities’ tightened checks early in March as Beijing throws up barriers to the entry of waste material in a battle against pollution.
In China, the world's top consumer and producer of refined copper, copper scrap is the raw material used by makers of semi-finished and finished copper products and refined copper.
