MY:Rupee down 5 paise against US dollar in noon trade
Indian rupee was slightly lower against the greenback in noon trade on Tuesday. Rupee was trading down 5 paise or 0.08% against US dollar to Rs 54.32 compared to previous close of 54.28 (12.31 p.m.). It opened at Rs 54.29 against US dollar.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.14% to 82.61 compared to previous close of 82.71 (02:50 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.28 up 0.08% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 92.87 down 0.39% (02:52 ET).
At 12.29 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 80.75 points or 0.43% at 18,945.50 with 20 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 36.05 points or 0.63% at 5,718.60 with 34 components gaining.
