Copper futures for April declined by 65 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 407.90 per kg in 1,728 lots.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract fell by 40 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 414.35 per kg in 153 lots.
Prices fell as speculators trimmed their positions.
Weakening trend in the global markets as record unemployment in Europe added to concern that demand will weaken amid signs of slowing growth in China and rising stockpiles of the metal, weighed on the copper prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, copper's inventories tracked by the London Metal Exchange (LME) climbed 0.2% to 571,125 tonnes.
At LME, the three-month contract traded 1% lower at $7,465 per tonne.
