By Greg Robb
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. trade deficit narrowed by 3.4% in February to $43.0 billion, the Commerce Department said Friday. Economists had expected the trade gap to widen to $45 billion. Exports rose in February while imports were virtually unchanged. In February, the U.S. imported the lowest quantity of crude oil since March 1996. The U.S. trade deficit with China widened to $23.4 billion in February compared with $19.4 billion in the same month last year.
