IV:Forex - Dollar falls to 3-week low vs. firmer yen
Investing.com - The dollar fell to three-week lows against the stronger yen on Thursday as falls in Japanese equities prompted investors to seek out safety in the yen.
USD/JPY hit 100.48 during late Asian trade, the pair’s lowest since May 9; the pair subsequently consolidated at 100.61, shedding 0.49%.
The pair was likely to find support at 100.00 and resistance at 101.52, the session high.
The yen strengthened as Japanese equities retreated on Thursday amid ongoing volatility in Japanese government bond markets.
Investors were looking ahead to the weekly U.S. report on jobless claims later in the global day amid ongoing speculation over whether the Federal Reserve is moving closer to scaling back its USD85 billion-a-month asset purchase program.
Elsewhere, the yen was higher against the dollar, with EUR/JPY down 0.34% to 130.42.
The U.S. was to release data on pending home sales later Thursday.
