ET:Copper futures fall 1.12 per cent on global cues
NEW DELHI: Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices fell by 1.12 per cent to Rs 401 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August fell by Rs 4.55, or 1.12 per cent, to Rs 401 per kg in business turnover of 3,344 lots. In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in June declined by Rs 4.35, or 1.09 per cent, to Rs 396.45 per kg in 23,503 lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to a weak global trend. Meanwhile, copper fell 0.6 per cent to $6,631.50 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
