BS:Select base metals decline on reduced demand
 
Select base metals declined at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amid reduced demand from industrial users.

Elsewhere, select brass and aluminium edged up owing to modest demand from consumer industries.

The industrial metals rose at the LME following latest data showing demand from China reached a nine-month high, indicating steady demand in the world's biggest consumer.

Nickel dropped by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 965 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 972.

Copper sheet cutting and tin dipped by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 463 and Rs 1,375 from Rs 468 and Rs 1,380 yesterday.

Copper armature moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 467 from Rs 469 previously.

Copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and zinc also softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 478, Rs 444 and Rs 149, respectively.

However, aluminium ingots gained by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 144 from overnight close of Rs 142, while brass utensils scrap inched up by Re 1 per kg to Rs 327 from Rs 326.
