NEW DELHI: Crude oil futures prices today rose by 0.35 per cent to Rs 6,389 per barrel as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firming trend in the Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for delivery in August traded Rs 22, or 0.35 per cent higher at Rs 6,389 per barrel, with a business turnover of 2,229 lots.
The crude oil prices for September also up by Rs 17, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 6,338 per barrel, with a business volume of 263 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in crude oil futures attributed to a firming trend in Asian trade on robust US crude demand.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for September delivery gained 22 cents to USD 107.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
