ET:Silver futures down 0.87 per cent on weak global trend
NEW DELHI: Taking weak cues from the global market and profit-booking by speculators, silver futures prices today fell by 0.87 per cent, to Rs 41,821 per kg.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in December fell by Rs 379, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 41,821 per kg in business turnover of 65 lots.
Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in September lost Rs 357, or 0.86 per cent, at Rs 41,050 per kg in 2,764 lots.
Analysts said a weak trend in the precious metals overseas and profit-booking at current levels by speculators, mainly weighed on silver prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver shed 0.91 per cent to USD 19.63 an ounce in New York yesterday.
