Gold prices fell for the second straight session in futures trade on Friday, down 1 per cent to Rs 31,294 per 10 grams, as speculators offloaded their positions on weak global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October fell by Rs 294, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 31,924 per 10 grams in business turnover of 3142 lots.
Similarly, the gold for December contract traded lower by Rs 279, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 32,011 per 10 grams in 117 lots.
Meanwhile, gold fell by $23.90 to $1,367.70 an ounce in New York on Thursday.
