MW: Oil futures trade mostly below $100 a barrel

By Myra P. Saefong and William L. Watts, MarketWatch
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Oil futures traded mostly below $100 a barrel Tuesday, finding some support from weakness in the dollar, but prices wavered as traders geared up for further increases in U.S. crude supplies and scrutinized the nation’s latest employment report for hints on the outlook for energy demand.

Crude for November delivery CLX3 -0.79% slipped by 13 cents, or 0.1%, to $99.09 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, retreating from an earlier high of $99.77. The November contract expires at the Nymex close. December crude CLZ3 -0.66% , which becomes the front-month contract, was down 12 cents, or 0.1%, at $99.56a barrel, though traded as high as $100.30 earlier.
