The ringgit closed higher against the US dollar supported by strong buying interest, dealers said.
At 5pm, the local currency was quoted at 3.1665/1695 against the greenback from Tuesday's 3.1715/1735.
"The stronger ringgit was also in line with the positive trend in most regional currencies amid tepid US job data," a dealer said.
Meanwhile, the ringgit was mixed against a basket of currencies.
It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.5547/5575 from 2.5554/5572 recorded on Tuesday and rose against the British pound to 5.1110/1172 from 5.1144/1182.
But, the domestic currency eased against the yen to 3.2547/2591 from 3.2234/2271 yesterday and fell against the euro to 4.3558/3609 from Tuesday's 4.3354/3388.-- Bernama
