BS:Nickel falls in limited trade

In a limited activity, nickel prices fell further at the non-ferrous metal market here today due to sustained stockist selling, amidst subdued demand from alloy industries.

Meanwhile, select copper edged up on better offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metals were trading lower at the LME, as aluminium hung close to its lowest in four months as historical overhang of inventory built up in the aftermath of the 2008 credit crisis.

Nickel dipped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,000 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,005.

Copper scrap heavy moved-down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 494 from Rs 496 and brass utensil scrap softened by a rupee per kg to RS 344.

However, copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheet cutting inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 501, Rs 455, Rs 529 and Rs 479 respectively.
