The ringgit extended early gains at close today on the back of improved sentiment and continuous buying interest, dealers said.
At 5pm, the local unit was quoted at 3.3210/3240 against the greenback from 3.3300/3330 yesterday.
The strengthening of the ringgit was aided by expectations of higher economic growth for 2013, said a dealer.
The local unit was generally higher against other major currencies.
It rose against the Singapore dollar to 2.6253/6279 from 2.6270/2294 yesterday and improved against the British pound at 5.4637/4703 from 5.4645/4708.
The local unit also continued to strengthen against the euro at 4.5279/5326 from 4.5514/5565 on Tuesday and against the yen at 3.2400/2436 from 3.2548/3.2587.-- Bernama
