BS reported that Indian copper prices moved up by 0.40% to INR 413.35 per kilogram in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on firm global cues.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June traded higher by INR 1.65 paise or 0.40% to INR 413.35 per kilogram in business turnover of 917 lots. August copper edged up by INR 1.60 or 0.39% to INR 416.60 per kilogram in 11 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in copper futures to a firming trend in the entire base metals pack overseas. Meanwhile, copper climbed 0.30% to USD 6,767.25 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange. In Shanghai, metal for delivery in August rose 0.40% to CNY 47,470 per tonne.
