Tracking a weak global trend, copper prices fell by 0.36% to INR 419.35 per kilogram in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August fell INR 1.50, or 0.36% to INR 419.35 per kilogram in business turnover of 33 lots. June copper traded lower by INR 1.30, or 0.31% to INR 416.50 per kilogram in 513 lots.
Analysts apart from subdued demand at domestic spot markets, a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange attributed the fall in copper futures.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months fell 0.3% to INR 6,856.50 a tonne at the LME.
