FR: Gold extends losses as other precious metals rally
 
Gold and silver have started today’s session narrowly mixed, with the former down and the latter up slightly. Other precious metals such as platinum and palladium are higher, as they continue to find support from the on-going strikes in South Africa. Miners such as Lonmin have seen their production of the precious metals drop heavily in recent times as months of negotiations between the employers and the radical AMCU union resulted in no agreement.
