CANBERA (Alliance News) - The Canadian dollar strengthened against the other major currencies in the European session on Wednesday.
The Canadian dollar rose to nearly a 1-1/2-month high of 1.2386 against the US dollar, from an early low of 1.2510.
Against the yen and the euro, the loonie advanced to nearly a 5-week high of 96.63 against the yen and nearly a 3-week high of 1.3483 against the euro from early lows of 99.00 and 1.3547, respectively.
The loonie edged up to 0.9569 against the Australian dollar, from an early 5-day low of 0.9609.
If the loonie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.19 against the greenback, 99.00 against the yen, 1.32 against the euro and 0.94 against the aussie.
