MW: Natural gas pares gains as U.S. supplies climb 75 billion cubic feet
Natural-gas futures on Thursday pared gains after the U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that supplies of natural gas rose by 75 billion cubic feet for the week ended June 19. Analysts polled by Platts forecast a climb of 76 billion cubic feet to 80 billion cubic feet. Total stocks now stand at 2,508 trillion cubic feet, up 695 billion cubic feet from a year ago and 35 billion cubic feet above the five-year average, the government said. July natural gas NGN15, +1.01% was at $2.782 per million British thermal units, up 2.3 cents, or 0.8%. It was trading at $2.82 before the data.
