BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - At 8:30 am ET Thursday, the Labor Department is due to release its weekly jobless claims report for the week ended March 12th. The consensus estimate calls for an increase in jobless claims to 270,000 from 259,000 in the previous week.
The greenback showed mixed trading against its major rivals before the data. While the greenback held steady against the euro, it dropped against the rest of major rivals.
The greenback was worth 1.1294 against the euro, 111.51 against the yen, 1.4402 against the pound and 0.9705 against the franc as of 8:25 am ET.
