US dollar mostly lower, gold rises in morning trading in Europe
The U.S. dollar was mostly lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday morning. Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.2894, up from $1.2746 late Friday in New York.

The British pound was quoted at $1.5787, up from $1.5701.
